Apollo - Online Right of Withdrawal

European law now requires an online withdrawal form on your store. Apollo turns that obligation into an automated process that leaves you with evidence, not just a working button.

The problem, and what changes

Since the amendment introduced by Directive (EU) 2023/2673, Article 11a of Directive 2011/83/EU requires online sellers to offer a functional online withdrawal form. A mailto link or a generic contact form is no longer enough.

Without Apollo

  • Withdrawal requests arrive by email, phone or contact form.
  • You check the 14-day deadline by hand, order by order.
  • No consistent record if a request is ever disputed.
  • Digital products and excluded goods handled case by case.
  • Erasure requests mean editing or deleting your own evidence.

With Apollo

  • A real online form, reachable by customers and guests alike.
  • The deadline is calculated and enforced automatically.
  • Every declaration recorded with full text, date and IP address.
  • Exemptions applied automatically, with the reason on record.
  • One-click anonymization that keeps the proof, drops the personal data.

What you get

Everything runs inside PrestaShop. No third-party service, no CDN, nothing else to install or configure.

Online withdrawal form

Ready to use for logged-in customers and guests. Guest lookup by order number and email, rate-limited against automated guessing.

Automatic deadlines

The legal 14 days from the order date, plus any extra courtesy days you choose to grant. Checked again on submission, so late requests are always refused.

Instant paper trail

Each declaration is stored with order, customer, IP and full text. The customer gets a receipt email, you get notified straight away.

Back-office control

A dedicated list of every request, with Received, Handled and Refunded status, a detail view and one-click PDF export.

GDPR ready

Any request or consent can be anonymized in one click, keeping the record, the order reference and the text as proof the process took place.

Full multistore

Requests, consents, exclusions and settings stay scoped per shop or shop group. Nothing mixes between shops sharing the same catalog.

Exemptions, handled properly

Not every product carries a right of withdrawal. Apollo covers both the digital content case and the other exceptions allowed by law.

Article 16(m)

Digital content consent

When a cart contains digital content, a consent checkbox appears at checkout next to the usual terms. If the customer accepts immediate delivery, the consent is recorded and becomes your evidence if the exemption is ever questioned.

If they do not accept, they simply keep the full right of withdrawal on that product, exactly as the law requires.

Manual exclusions

Categories and products

Custom-made goods, perishable goods, sealed hygiene products and similar cases can be excluded by category or by product, each with its own reason on record.

Orders made only of excluded items do not show the button at all. On mixed orders the button stays, and the declaration states clearly which products are not covered.

What sets Apollo apart

Most withdrawal modules cover the form and the deadline. These are the parts that are hard to find elsewhere.

Proof, not just exclusion

Hiding the button on an excluded category satisfies the customer's screen, not an inspection. Apollo collects the Article 16(m) consent at checkout, records it against the order and exports it.

Erase data, keep evidence

Deleting a record to satisfy an erasure request destroys your own proof. Apollo strips the name, email and IP, and keeps the declaration, the date and the text.

Configuration rollback

Every save keeps a snapshot of the previous settings, up to five, restorable in one click. Rarely found in PrestaShop modules.

🔒

Protected guest access

The guest lookup form has no login, so it is an obvious target for automated guessing. Apollo rate-limits it by IP address and cleans up its own log.

Built for PrestaShop 9 only

No compatibility layers carried over from 1.7 and 8. Smaller code, predictable behaviour, native integration with the Classic theme and no overrides.

Genuine multistore scoping

Settings, requests, consents and exclusions are scoped per shop or shop group, and exclusions can be limited to specific shops.

How it works

Install

Upload the zip from the Module Manager. No template override, no custom development.

Configure

One clear page: courtesy days, notification email, exclusion lists, footer link.

Customers apply

The button appears on the order detail page while the order is still within the deadline.

You handle it

Review each request in the back office, mark it Handled or Refunded, export the PDF.

Questions

Do I need a developer to install it?

No. Apollo works natively with PrestaShop 9's Classic theme and any theme built on it, with no template overrides. Installation is a normal zip upload from the Module Manager.

Which languages are included?

Seven: English, Italian, German, Spanish, French, Polish and Portuguese. Texts shown to customers follow the language of the shop they are browsing. If your shop uses a language not included, those texts appear in English.

Can guests request a withdrawal?

Yes. Customers who checked out without an account can find their order using the order number and the email address used at checkout. That lookup is rate-limited by IP address to prevent automated guessing.

What happens if I change a setting by mistake?

Every time you save, Apollo keeps a snapshot of the previous values, up to five. The Rollback panel lets you restore any of them with one click, a feature rarely found in PrestaShop modules.

Does it work with multiple shops?

Yes. Requests, consents, exclusions and settings are kept separate per shop or shop group, even when the shops share the same catalog. Exclusions can also be limited to specific shops.

Does Apollo make my store legally compliant?

Apollo is a technical tool: it provides the online form, records declarations and sends the emails. It does not by itself guarantee full compliance, in particular around which of your products are exempt. TEMA S.r.l. does not provide legal advice, so please confirm your own case with a qualified professional.
